Name: Hannah Silk Champagne
Twitter: @hsilkchampagne. “I tweet a lot about rap music and cake.”
Website: “Although it’s not my personal website, I like to think that I’ve helped to shape the world of MPLS.TV. For something a little more personal check out the Tumblr some friends and I goof around on: 2chill2care.tumblr.com.”
What’s your job?
“I finally graduated from college and am looking to get professional, but until I find something I like better I will continue to work in a bakery, doing things like playing with frosting and knowing way too much about gluten-free products.”
Other than your job, what are your claims to fame?
“I have a flashy name, a flashy watch, and I’ve been working with MPLS.TV in a variety of ways for almost two years.”
Where are you most likely to be seen?
“I think there’s a fairly standard set of places that people go to, myself included, so it goes without saying that I can be seen at the First Ave Megaplex, Triple Rock, Hexagon, Kitty Cat Klub, Grumpy’s Downtown—home to my favorite bartender, Mark—etc. But my #1 spot is a beautiful oasis in Northeast, where I go to not be seen, the name of which I shall not reveal. And I occasionally hang around those places that you don’t talk about in a public forum. Ya know, the ones where young men and young women go to experience their first little taste of the nightlife.”
Where are you least likely to be seen?
“Uptown. Anywhere west of Nicollet Avenue South. People have tried to explain it to me, but I can’t understand why anyone would go to Uptown by choice. I’d rather hang out in St. Paul, and I don’t mean that in a backhanded way. I love St. Paul.”
With whom are you most likely to be seen?
“Hands down my number one companion is Brandon “Bby Boy” Fry, but it’s also likely that you’ll see me with Chris Cloud or Ella Chrenka, among many others. Shout outs! Love you all!”
Where were you born?
“I’m from Portland. No, not that Portland. Portland, Maine.”
In what neighborhood do you live now?
“I live in the Corcoran neighborhood. That’s in the Midtown/ East Lake area, for those who don’t get specific with their neighborhood names.”
What’s your ride?
“Up until very recently I’ve primarily relied on bike, bus and the kindness of strangers—urban hitchhiking. But I just got a car, and it’s pretty great.”
What’s the best way to start a conversation with you?
“Talk to me about economic development in Sub-Saharan Africa or how the public school system needs to be restructured to meet the needs of all students, or give me a shot of Rumplemintz and we can talk about whatever you want. Just don’t ask me if my name is real. I find that to be insulting.”
