At a breakfast meeting this morning at the Good Day Cafe in Golden Valley, I spotted Iggy’s Fried Egg Sandwich ($10.25) – fried eggs, ham, tomato and lots of avocado on grilled brioche bread, with fried potatoes on the side. I had to wonder: might they have named this dish after moi, the formerly famous restaurant critic. (It has happened before – the Anodyne Cafe used to serve a steamed egg dish called the Jeremy Eggers.) So I asked our server whether the dish was named after anybody in particular. No, she said – it’s just a name they made up. Oh well – it’s kind of a heart attack on a plate, but it was delicious.
