Youth workers organize mayoral candidate forum focused on racial disparities in Minneapolis

On June 6, a coalition of young voters will press the candidates for Mayor of Minneapolis on the issue of racial inequality.

The forum is a project of a group called One Minneapolis – formed to focus on ending racial disparities. It’s not associated with the Minneapolis Foundation, though the Foundation has issued a report on racial achievement and opportunity gaps that is also named “One Minneapolis.”

Henry Jimenez and Marjaan Sirdar are helping to organize the forum, which will begin at 6pm at the Sabathani Community Center at 310 East 38th Street in Minnepolis.

Jimenez and Sirdar talked about the effort with KFAI’s Siobhan Kierans on The Morning Blend. [Audio below]
