On Saturday, June 15th, the Corcoran neighborhood was part of another annual multi-neighborhood garage sale event. Despite overcast skies, high humidity, and threat of yet another day of rain, scores of pre-registered Corcoran homeowners and renters had their priced sale items set-up and displayed for customers by 9 a.m. that morning. And the customers came.
By foot, bicycle, skateboard, and car, shoppers arrived and scoured the sale items. Many residents overseeing their sales reported good attendance and were very happy with the overall sales. Those browsing found great buys on clothing, furniture, toys, tools, sports equipment, and even boxes of overstock Mary Kay makeup items to name a few great buys. This writer found a perfect small bedside table swing-arm reading lamp for only $2.00. Try to find that deal in a retail store.
At the end of the sale which closed mid-afternoon, buyers went home with new treasures while the participating Corcoran sellers had less to store in their homes but more money in their pockets. A very good deal for all.
