Forum partnerships coming
The Daily Planet will soon be providing links on its homepage to the popular Minneapolis and St. Paul Issues Lists, the Mnartists.org forum, as well as to other online reader forums. Just as we provide a one-stop portal to dozens of community publications, the new forum links will allow Daily Planet readers to explore a number of online conversations. Look for the forum links in the days ahead.
Headwaters Foundation grantees check out the Planet
Earlier this week, Daily Planet managing editor Craig Cox conducted a tour of the Daily Planet Web site for representatives of several nonprofits that have been funded by the Minneapolis-based Headwaters Foundation. The participants, from a range organizations, including Centro Legal and the African American Men Project, were able to ask questions about how to access the information on the Web site as well as how to get the word out about their organization’s work to Daily Planet readers.
Wi-Fi update
We’re told by the folks at U.S. Internet that the Southside Wi-Fi pilot project will be ready to launch in early July. The Northside pilot being built by Earthlink is reportedly in a testing phase. We’ll keep you apprised as this project moves forward.
More Web site tweaking
Daily Planet readers can now sign up to receive daily e-mail headlines with links to specific stories. Meanwhile, Web guy Joe Shindelar is working hard to filter incoming spam from comments and content submissions.
More Videos
Check out the Video Gallery for some new videos, including material from Chasing Windmills. We’ll be adding more videos in the days ahead.

The Twin Ciities Media Alliance board of directors will meet June 20 at Daily Planet offices, 2600 E. Franklin Ave. #2. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. We’ll have a report for you next week.
