Daily Planet and The Commons

Ad policy forthcoming
We’re beginning to be approached by advertisers who want to reach Daily Planet readers, so on Thursday a committee of the TCMA board sat down to discuss ad policies. The group, which included Cynthia Moothart, Rich Broderick, Artie Martinez, and Abdi Aynte, discussed various approaches to assure that advertising on the site was appropriate for our audience. Staff was directed to draw up some language for the July 19 board meeting.
Wi-Fi ‘share fairs’
The two vendors who are bidding for the contract to build the Minneapolis Wi-Fi network will be hosting “share fairs” in North and South Minneapolis next month to explain how the new wireless system will work. Earthlink will be hosting the Northside fair July 8 at the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center, and U.S. Internet will be hosting the Southside event July 14 at the Brian Coyle Center. Daily Planet staff will be present at both events to promote the site and talk with residents about citizen-journalist opportunities.
Media partner surveys
Daily Planet operations manager Becky Clawson has designed a survey for media partners to help us evaluate what’s working and what’s not working in our partnership. We hope to have results in by July 9. Thanks to all of you who have already completed the survey.
Daily Planet and the Walk for Justice
