St. Anthony’s VillageFest activities benefited from slightly better weather than we’ve had lately, for the Friday, Aug. 5 parade and after-parade party at the St. Anthony Village Shopping Center, and almost perfect weather on Saturday Aug. 6 for activities at Central Park.

VillageFest 5K winners
The top five male finishers in the VillageFest 5K race held Saturday morning, with their times, were Chris Lawson, age 17 of Minneapolis, 16:02; Joe Louiselle, age 15 of Minneapolis, 16:07; Kevin Burns, age 39 of St. Anthony, 17:32; Darin Zielsdorf, age 41 of New Brighton, 17:47; and Nick Lawson, age 14 of Minneapolis, 18:37.
Female racers in the top five were: Kathy Olson, age 25 of St. Anthony, 20:08; Allie Picard, age 17 of New Brighton, 20:54; Melissa Marsh, age 14 of St. Anthony, 21:00; Bridget Gustafson, age 16 of Minneapolis, and Lorna Byerly, age 47 of St. Paul, 22:20.
