I love nothing more than a hot man on a bike. So my first pick is Angry Catfish Bicycle + Coffee Bar. I went to hang out with a friend there the other day and just about had to wipe the drool off my chin. Hello, cuties on bikes! And I’m not just talking men. If I was into dating women, I’d totally be picking them up there. Hot tattooed hippies; those would be my type of women. Plus, looking at sexy bikes will get these single folks in the mood to mate. And I hear the coffee is quite good, too! For more biker singles, check out One on One Bicycle Studio or Freewheel Bike.
Looking for hot hipsters? Go to Northeast and visit the 331 Club. Participate in the Drinkin’ Spelling Bee and show off your vocabulary. They also have Blingo every week, and the cute hipsters come in droves. You can also win drinks and other prizes! There are also rockin’—and sometimes attractive—bands (I may have put my number in the pocket of a hot man on stage a few weeks ago) and fun bartenders.
Not to forget good ol’ St Paul—as Cyn said, the Turf Club is full of good music and good-looking people. It’s another excellent place to meet music lovers, if that’s what you’re into. Seriously, all the attractive single people in St. Paul must be here all the time. It’s a fun place to see a show or head downstairs for a drink and a place to talk.
Are you a foodie? Check out the Gastro Non Grata events that take place at the Triple Rock, Sea Change‘s patio, First Avenue, etc.! It’s a fabulous way to meet people who love food and music. The Sea Change patio is a really lovely place to share fabulous cocktails and talk. Also new to the scene is Haute Dish, where delicious food is accompanied by stellar drinks like the Minnesota Mule, which most of my single friends rave about. They head there late at night to sip (or chug) those at the bar. If you want to meet people who appreciate the finer edible and drinkable things in life, Haute Dish has a nice atmosphere.
Love dancing? Go to Transmission on Wednesday nights at Clubhouse Jäger and dance your way into the arms of a single lass. Show off your moves and meet other people who like hip-shaking and good music. They also have a new patio out back where you can sit and talk to that fellow who you just met out on the dance floor.
The best way to find fun unattached people is to attend events that you enjoy and meet others who enjoy the same things. I recommend Give & Take which takes place at Intermedia Arts on the last Wednesday of every month. It’s about sharing and gaining knowledge and includes presentations, games, socializing, and drinks. What better way to meet people than socializing, with drinks! The Bryant-Lake Bowl also is home to many cool shows and events, such as Salon Saloon, which features a different topic each month so you’re bound to meet people with a variety of interests if you start frequenting this talk-showesque arts-and-culture show. Plus, there’s good beer, tasty food, and a bowling alley, so it’s a good hangout for singles.
Hope this helps lead you to the man or woman of your dreams—or maybe just the man or women of the moment!
