Fall is here and another Market Season is in the books! I would like to give a big thanks to all of you who support and make the Midtown Farmers Market so wonderful. This includes vendors, volunteers, customers, community members, sponsors, donors and anyone else who shows their support in one way or another. Looking back over the past six months, I am truly grateful for and appreciative of the great sense of community surrounding the Market and the welcome I have received in my first year as Market Manager! It has been a pleasure getting to know and work with all who are involved with the Market.
Some highlights from the 2013 season include: a well-attended Bike Day in June, as well as great turn-outs for other themed market days including Dirt Day, Scandinavian Day, and Native American Day; two successful Blood Drives at the Market with Memorial Blood Centers; plenty of great activities including our 2nd Saturday Family Activities, Story Time with the East Lake Library, Midtown Flavors cooking demos, and Yoga at the Market; and the launch and first season of composting at the Market. Thanks to everyone for helping to make composting at the Market a success and be sure to keep an eye out for an updated and enhanced program next season.
I hope you all enjoy a great Minnesota winter during the off-season, and we will see you in the spring for the 2014 market season!
