June 30 was Health Care Policy Associate Nina Slupphaug’s last day at Minnesota 2020. As a Norwegian citizen, educated at Augustana College and the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute, she’s brought a decidedly critical perspective to Minnesota’s public policy debate. Norway’s citizens enjoy universal health care; Americans do not. Nina remains perplexed why Americans haven’t made the same choice. It’s given her plenty of grist for her state health care public policy work.
Preparing for her last day, I reread her articles and blog posts. They’re terrific pieces and I encourage Minnesota 2020’s readers to check them out. I’ll miss Nina’s great humor and her quiet determination that Minnesota health care policy should serve every Minnesotan and that we are healthier and more prosperous when everyone has affordable health insurance and access to high quality care.
Nina Slupphaug moves Minnesota forward.
