Meet the 21 neighborhood leaders who volunteer their time as your elected representatives – and if you have a neighborhood concern, sign up to share your remarks at the monthly Open Forum. This months meeting will also include a vote on who will recieve the 2013 Good Neighbor Award!

Sept 21st: FALL WEST 7TH & SUMMIT HILL NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUP EVENT
Once again, the West 7th/Fort Road Federation is partnering with the Summit Hill Association to provide a fall Neighborhood Cleanup event for those of us who missed might have missed the May event. The Cleanup is on Sat., Sept. 21st from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is located behind the Schmidt Brewery at James Avenue and Toronto St. Details about fees for recycling materials are at this link. Here’s another chance to do the Green thing with all that stuff collecting in your garage and basement!
Sept 21st: GARDENERS NEEDED!
The SHA Environment Committee has set up a day to weed, water and mulch the Linwood gardens on Sat, Sept 21st from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. It’s always been a great group of people who turn out to make quick work with many hands. Sept. 23rd: NEXT PEDESTRIAN SAFETY & TRAFFIC CALMING MEETING
Having successfully completed this year’s Grand Avenue Pedestrian Safety Week…this committee is working with other neighborhoods and City of St. Paul on a citywide Pedestrian Safety awareness campaign. They will also be working with the Met Council to set up a future community info meeting regarding the details for the new Lexington Parkway busline to be operating in 2014. So…if you are interested in knowing more about this and other ped-safety community improvement projects SHA is working on and how you can get involved – please join us at this next monthly meeting of the Ped Safety/Traffic Calming Committee at the Linwood Rec Center. Oct. 5th: FALL NEIGHBORHOOD GARAGE SALE
The Summit Hill neighborhood-wide fall garage sale is Sat., Oct 5th. Registration forms are available at this link or from the SHA Office. The fee for registration which includes sales publicity in the Pioneer Press, Villager and Star & Tribune is $15. Special post-sale pickups of garage sale “left overs” by the Salvation Army can be arranged. The deadline for registration is Friday, Sept 27th. Maps of all Summit Hill sales locations will be available online on the SHA website, at the Linwood Community Center, and at all garage sales sites the day of the sale.
