Students begin final year at two St. Paul schools

St. Paul Public Schools students returned to the classroom yesterday, but at two local elementary schools they are facing a challenge far different than the typical sea of new faces and homework; Roosevelt and Longfellow students are beginning the final year at their respective schools, which will be closed at the end of the 2009-2010 academic year. KFAI’s Edward Gadient visited the Longfellow Humanities Elementary open house last week and spoke with parents, students and teachers about the closing of the 127 year old neighborhood school.
