John Harrington will become the new chief of police for Metro Transit in Minneapolis and St. Paul. He’s well known to Minnesotans, especially in the city of St. Paul. He’s a DFL state senator and a former police chief for the city. His term in the legislature ends with the election this November, and then he’ll be taking over a force of 124 full and part-time officers as Metro Transit goes through a time of expansion. John Harrington talked with KFAI’s Bob Hines and Michelle Alimoradi, who asked about the challenges of policing transit. [Audio below]
