The West 7th Business Association invites all West End neighbors to complete a short ten-question survey regarding the Great River Park Project at Survey Monkey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MFZ59QY. Please go to this site and complete the survey before Friday January 21st. Results of the survey will be available its general membership meeting Tuesday, January 25 3 p.m. at Summit Brewing. This river and park project will affect businesses and our neighborhood in small and big ways. Please take a couple minutes to fill out the survey and provide your opinion.
On August 17th Mayor Coleman announced the beginning of a year long process to examine the future of citizen use of the river and development along and near the Mississippi River Corridor. Consultants have been hired to develop a plan called the Great River Park Master Plan http://www.greatriverpark.org. It is intended to transform St. Paul in profound ways according to planners.
At the meeting on the January 25, Bruce Chamberlain of Hoisington Koegler Group of Minneapolis will present on progress developing the plan. Expected to attend are local members of St. Paul’s citizen advisory committee. A draft plan is due in February and a final plan sometime midyear of 2011.
