Fratallone’s Hardware on Grand Avenue has a window filled with barbecue grills, and another window filled with sleds. That sums up the schizophrenic winter we’re having in St. Paul, with almost no snow and 40-degree temperatures in January. The 2012 St. Paul Winter Carnival goes on, though the snow-sculpting contest on the State Fair grounds was canceled, due to lack of snow.
In Rice Park, ice sculptures still sparkle in the sun, and the skating rink next to the Landmark Center is open to the public.
If you’d like to add your photos to the slideshow, post them on Flickr and send them to our Winter Carnival group. Or send me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org), telling me where the photos are posted, and giving me permission to add them to the slide show.
