Polish your lamps and air out your baby clothes! The Standish, Ericsson, and Corcoran Neighborhood Garage Sale is coming on Sat., June 9. The garage sale, now in its 10th year, is a community-wide event extending from Lake St. to Minnehaha Pkwy. and from Cedar Ave. to Hiawatha Ave., and is the largest garage sale event in Minneapolis. Last year’s event involved over 140 households, brought approximately $33,000 into the neighborhood, and recycled thousands of items.
SENA/Corcoran neighborhood garage sale
Saturday, June 9, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
For those who would like to have a sale: Individual households will set up their own sales at their own homes. SENA and the Corcoran Neighborhood Organization will take care of the publicity, including advertising in the StarTribune and sending press releases to area newspapers and other media. SENA will distribute a map with the location of all homes and businesses participating, as well as descriptions of what they are selling. To be added to the list of sales and to the map, simply call the SENA office at 721-1601 by Fri., June 1.You’ll be asked for your address, phone number, and the type of merchandise being sold at your sale.
For shoppers: The free map and guide to all of the sales will be available at several locations throughout the neighborhood. (See the June/July issue of SENA News for locations or www.standish-ericsson.org.) The sale will be held rain or shine.
