“The sun has set for now.”
A hauntingly sung depiction sharing the stories of a child and woman accused of witchcraft in the 1600s. The score tells the tale of terror, trepidation, love and lies surrounding the worlds of innocent victims.
The theater for young audiences juggernaut returns – with a family show about the Salem which trials, with a young girl in peril – and it’s a musical. You gotta hand it to ’em, they don’t go the conventional route. Again, voices having trouble filling the space, at least until the choir kicked in. That was probably the most fun bit of the preview. Suddenly half the left side of the house stood up and sang along. All in civilian clothes, so it was a nice surprise. They started singing earlier but until they stood, I wasn’t sure where the voices were coming from. I wasn’t expecting it to be part of the crowd. Nicely played.
