by Andy Birkey | April 21, 2009 • What was intended to be a serious effort to beat back the forces of marriage equality has become a “camp” sensation across the country. The National Organization of Marriage dumped $1.5 million into an ad campaign called the “Gathering Storm” and is set to air in key states where marriage equality is advancing, but it already has aired in much of the county in the form of parody gays and lesbians, celebrities, and just about anyone with a camera have done their own interpretation.
