This Saturday, there’s going to be a craft showdown at the Midtown Global Market. Four teams of competitors vie for the No Coast Craft-a-Thon Champion title by sewing, glue gunning, and beading mismatched materials to create the prize-winning craft item. There are no guidelines as to what the teams can create so the contestants (which will include a roller girl contingent) will have 45 minutes to make the coolest craft item they can come up with.

The Craft-a-Thon competition is part of the No Coast Craft-A-Rama (NCCOR), a free event at Midtown Global market this Friday and Saturday. The NCCOR began in 2005 and is a craft fair that features designers, artists and crafters that create handmade unique gifts.

According to the organization’s press release, they have created a “Greenifesto” this year, focusing on creating a sustainable event. The press release also states that there will be many choices to buy products with re-purposed materials and organic materials, and the organizers are encouraging vendors and attendees to take alternative transportation to the event.
