Le Depanneur de la Front de Liberation Quebecois, a.k.a. The Quebecois Liberation Front Quickie Mart, by Art of This Gallery, and News Shanty. Walking in, I saw Troy Pieper, managing editor of
ARP! and, thinking he was part of the Quebecois revolution, began to speak in butchered French.
“Quesque tu la Quebecois?” Troy: "You’re in News, the liberation is to your left!" And then he fired a long French phrase at me. I recoiled, horrified,
“Je ne parle pas Francais!” “You don’t speak French?”
“Un peur.” “Mois aussi,” agreed Pieper. Then we chatted in English about the newspapers to peruse, such as
ARP!,
Daybreak, and various underground revolutionary pamphlets. To my left, the Quebecois Liberation was serving ketchup potato chips, and occasionally poutine.
