St. Paul, MN, January 4, 2011. For the 18th consecutive year the Welfare Rights Committee demonstrated at the State Capitol on the opening day for the legislature. They founded the Minnesota Coalition for a People’s Bailout that includes a number of social issue activist groups. It was a bright, brisk, 4 degree F day. Students from the Student Association for the Advancement of Children as People added the eloquence only a child can deliver. After the speeches, they marched into the capitol rotunda and up the marble stairs by both legislative chambers as the legislature formed for this session.
