Pawlenty: Cuts, not revenue to solve $1.2 billion shortfall


Governor Tim Pawlenty reacts to the projected budget shortfall of $1.2 Billion dollars. He said, the only way to solve it was to cut spending more. If taxes were ever overhauled, they would have to be “revenue neutral”, and that he may consider retaining the LGA payments (Local Government Aid that goes to cities and counties) due at the end of December. The Governor says he is considering cuts in everything and he now wonders if education could absorb some cuts too.
