If you’ve ever had questions about what exactly the Occupy movement was about, this would be an excellent show to check out. One of our favorite visiting Fringe artists, Tommy Nugent tells his very personal story about how he inadvertently found himself in the middle of something much larger than he could have imagined. See OCCUPY This! Tales of an Accidental Activist by Tommy Nugent at New Century Thursday at 8:30, Friday at 5:30, or Saturday at 1.
I’m a huge fan of phillip andrew bennett low, aka the Busiest Man in Fringeville. He’s got his fingers in FOUR shows this year, plus he sits on the Fringe board, plus he’s blogging on TC Daily Planet. He’s a very accomplished storyteller, and I found this show, the Concept of Anxiety, to be among his most accessible. This was the first I’ve seen his partner in crime, Liz Byrd, perform, and her presence smoothed out phillip’s sharp edges. There are lots of mind-bending concepts of existentialism and quantum physics, parallel worlds and fanciful tales. (Thanks to Fringe, I now know a fair amount about Schrodinger’s cat, which is helpful in this show.) Catch them Saturday at 5:30 or Sunday at 7 at HUGE Theater.
