Protest: Stop FBI Repression! 2nd Anniversary of the FBI Raids on Anti-War Activists in our Community
At Minneapolis Federal Building, 4th St. & 4th Ave., downtown Minneapolis
Look for our banner that says “No Repression!” in many different languages, and join with us in solidarity with all victims of raids and political repression.
On September 24th, 2010, activists in Minneapolis and other parts of the Midwest were raided by the FBI and subpoenaed to appear before a secret grand jury investigating “material support for terrorism.” Today, 23 Midwest anti-war and international solidarity activists continue to resist this grand jury, refusing to testify against their fellow activists and the movements they organize in. The prosecutor says he is pursuing multiple indictments, but we know that solidarity is NOT a crime! Two years after the raids on activists’ homes and offices, let’s stand together to demand this bogus investigation be brought to an end. Info: Organized by the MN Committee to Stop FBI Repression. Endorsed by MIRAc. RSVP on facebook event:

Rally: Support Immigrant Rights – Support Joe Callahan
4200 Cedar Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN
On July 31, 2011, after two Salvadoran immigrants went to Canada to apply for asylum, long-time Twin Cities activist Joe Callahan was arrested by Canadian police at the Pigeon River border station. At the time Joe was alone in his car. The Canadian police used a backpack, maps and other items found in Joe’s car as the grounds for his arrest. Joe was charged with “aiding and abetting an immigration without a visa,” and “providing false and misleading information.” Joe spent a month in jail, during which the charge of “smuggling” or “human trafficking” was added. Joe Callahan is NOT a human trafficker! Joe is NOT a smuggler! Drop the charges! Joe is a political activist concerned about the rights of immigrants. He needs the help of all supporters of democratic rights. Send donations to: Joe Callahan Support Committee, 2919 Polk St. NE, Minneapolis, Mn 55418 Info:
