NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES | Desperately seeking ice cream

Print

Desperately seeking ice cream in Northeast?  Try Coffee Nazionale, 2336 Central Avenue, just South of Lowry.   Not a lot of flavors the day I stopped in, but the standards looked pretty inviting on a summer morning walk down Central.  They have lots of other sweets and treats, too, but it’s ice cream that’s somehow in short supply in the neighborhood.

Coffee Nazionale which has been open for over six months also offers smoothies, Somali tea and a smorgasbord of Somali treats including falafel, masharo and nafaao.

They’re open Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday 6:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and weekends 9:00 a.m.-10:00.

The coffee shop offers free wifi with plenty of workspace for searchers and lurkers alike. Just don’t drip your ice cream on the keyboard!  Phone 612 275 4883.
