In the latest installment of the Red Stag Supperclub’s monthly “Cattywompus” series, on Monday night the simmeringly glamorous Dearling Physique led a lineup of bands including Military Special, Skeletonbreath (a Philadelphia instrumental trio making a surprise stop at the Red Stag before their Tuesday night slot opening for Dante and the Lobster at the Turf Club), and Les Ourses. DJ Chris Berry spun records between sets.
Behind the bands, a screen played choice snippets of glam video curated by Lamb Lays With Lion‘s artistic director Jeremey Catterton—most jaw-droppingly, the final third of Gwendoline (1984), a sci-fi adventure film featuring hordes of topless female gladiators.
