Minnesota Public Radio Day at the MN State Fair celebrated our great state of music. MPR’s radio station 89.3 The Current hosted a top notch evening of local grown music. MN Music-on-a-Stick brought a remarkable array of upcoming musicians as well as true-blue favorites. The Grandstand rocked for six hours with Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles, Jeremy Messersmith, Dessa, the Jayhawks and Semisonic. The grand finale was a jamming tribute to our great state’s funkiest musician, Prince. Those in attendance on August 31 were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime rendition of “Little Red Corvette.”
