Tis the season … to give, and especially to give to kids. Lots of kids need gifts and warm clothes. Here are a few places you can help out.
Mittens for Riverside Plaza children: Matching pairs in all sizes in good condition accepted – including adults. Please use masking tape or clips to connect a matching pair together.
For the week of December 13 – 20, drop off mittens at Welna II Hardware (2201 E. Franklin Avenue, Minneapolis – M-Th 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; F 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sat. 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.) or Brian Coyle Community Center (420 15th Avenue S., Minneapolis, MN – M-F 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sat. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; closed Sunday.)
Urban Arts Academy needs snowpants, hats, & mittens for their after school program, as well as sled and ice skates – new or slightly used for elementary age children. They say:
