Minneapolis City Council member calls for community meetings on chief nomination

Next Wednesday, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak’s police chief nominee, Tim Dolan, goes in front of the executive committee for another vote. One of the members is city council member Cam Gordon. He’s a critic of the mayor’s nomination, and he’s called a community meeting for more public input into the police chief selection process before Wednesday’s vote. He told KFAI’s Ann Alquist it’s a big decision, and he’s been hearing from his constituents.

The community meeting on the police chief selection is scheduled for Monday, October 9th at Matthews Park at 5:30pm. Matthews Park is located at 2318 28th Avenue South.
