The Mayor of Minneapolis has little direct control over the city’s school system, yet education has become one of the hot campaign issues in this year’s wide-open mayoral race. A recent poll found it was the top concern of 27 percent of voters— topping all other issues including crime. [Video of forum below.]
Tonight, a select group of Minneapolis mayoral candidates will talk about their education plans during a candidates’ forum expected to begin about 6:45pm at the Mill City Museum. The forum will be live-streamed here on The UpTake.
The event was organized by Minncan.org and other education reform groups. Minncan.org says it has invited “major candidates for mayor to share their plans for education in our community” There will be questions allowed from the audience.
