THURSDAY PICK | Mariano Pensotti: Like sands through the hourglass at the Walker Art Center

Print

When we were kids, my sisters had a semi-spherical dollhouse that rotated on a turntable, with walls dividing the dolls’ various rooms. That’s the first thing I thought of when Philip Bither, curator of performing arts at the Walker Art Center, described to me the setup for Mariano Pensotti’s show El Pasado es un Animal Grotesco (The Past is a Grotesque Animal). The Argentinean theater artist presents his show, about the passage of time and changes in relationships among a group of young adults, this weekend at the McGuire Theater as the final entry in the Walker’s 2012 Out There series.
