More than 500 multi-family homes in Bloomington and Richfield will get noise insulation beginning this month, thanks to a $3.6 million federal grant to the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC).

The most recent noise mitigation work, all in the 64 DNL (day-night noise level) area, should be completed next year, reports Michael Metzger in the Southwest Journal.

More than 8,200 housing units near the airport have received noise insulation since 1992 as part of a $230 million MAC program.
