Lyndale Neighborhood Association continues to bring the community together. Last Saturday, at Painter’s Park over 300 adults with their children celebrated ~ Children’s day Celebration. Families enjoyed the free Mexican food provided by Valerie’s and Cinco de Mayo. They were entertained with music, and payasos (clowns) which got both the children and parents dancing and having fun as a family. There was also free face painting and a raffle that included a dozen children’s prizes. Overall, this event was amazing for many reasons, but primarily because it brought together diverse neighbors to celebrate what they all have in common, their children. Everyone came together in celebrating our children.
Lyndale continues to do so much for our community, they are setting a beautiful trend in our city. They continue to engage their neighbors not by putting together events and hoping that people will show up but by being intentional about their events. They understand the importance of inclusivity and having events that people want and need in their communities.
Thank you Lyndale Neighborhood Association and all your volunteers for making Día del Niño happen.
