After negative television coverage of student participation in a demonstration at the State Capitol on Tuesday, Southside Family School administrators reported receiving “vitriolic voice and e-mail messages,” including some characterized as “personal attacks, bordering on threatening against the school.”

The television news report on KSTP 5 and the blog criticism on KARE 11 came after a Southside Family School field trip for 6th-8th grade students to a demonstration against cuts in welfare funding.

Because of the threats, the school has posted a notice on its website that it will not comment on the action at the Capitol.
