Dear Friends of the Daily Planet,
We need your help.
Many readers of the Daily Planet may not realize that the Twin Cities Media Alliance is a 501-c-3 non-profit, and we depend on the support of our friends to keep the Daily Planet in orbit. You can support us by making a donation of any size on our secure donations page, where we offer a variety of nifty premiums. If you prefer, you can also contribute by automatic withdrawal. Or you can send a check, payable to TCMA, to Twin Cities Media Alliance, 2600 E. Franklin, suite #2, Minneapolis, MN 55406.
You can also support us by advertising in the Daily Planet. Our readers are smart, very involved in their community (like you), and likely to support locally owned businesses. And the ads that appear in the Daily Planet seem to get much higher than average click-through rates.
And we are trying to be creative about getting funding from other sources. For example, my barber, Leo Odden, says that for every new customer who comes in to the Grain Exchange Barber Shop, 323 4th Ave. S., Minneapolis, and mentions the Twin Cities Daily Planet, he’ll make a $10 donation to the Twin Cities Media Alliance. He figures it’s a good deal for him, because if he cuts your hair once, you will probably be a customer for life. That’s what happened to me – I have been going to Leo for more than 20 years, and I have never gotten a bad haircut. Call 612-333-7426 for an appointment. If you go, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org, and let me know how it went. In return, I’ll send you a pass to the Friedlander photography show at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
If you have a small business (or even a big business) and have other creative ideas about how you can support the Planet, and maybe help yourself at the same time, please contact me at the above address, or call me at 612-436-9186.
Thanks for your support,
— Jeremy Iggers
