Labor Day celebrations planned across Minnesota


Several Labor Day celebrations are planned across Minnesota to commemorate the struggles that resulted in the 40-hour workweek, safe working conditions, secure retirement benefits and the right to a voice on the job. Here is the schedule:

Iron Range Day-Before Labor Day Picnic

Carlton County 93rd Annual Labor Day Celebration
Monday, Sept 3
11 a.m. Parade – Cloquet Ave. from 18th St. N. to 8th St. N., Cloquet
2 p.m. Picnic – Cloquet Labor Temple, 1403 Ave. C., Cloquet

Duluth AFL-CIO Labor Day Picnic
Monday, Sept. 3 – Noon to 4 p.m.
Bayfront Park, Duluth

Central Minnesota Trades and Labor Assembly Picnic
Monday, Sept. 3 – Noon to 3 p.m.
