A Hennepin County judge ruled against the Minneapolis park Board’s petition to add a referendum to the November ballot to let voters decide whether the Park Board should have independent taxing authority. The proposal was rejected by the City Council after the City Attorney advised that it was in violation of state and constitutional law. KFAI’s Roger Huelsnitz spoke with Justin Fay, the campaign manager for Citizens for Independent parks, about the judge’s decision.
