Iraq-Minnesota connections — Naser Amin: “Not all immigrants are uneducated”

Print

“I would like to tell Americans and, in specific, Minnesotans, that not all immigrants and especially Iraqis are uneducated,” says Naser Amin. Amin is an aircraft mechanic and a refugee, searching for a job. He tells his story in this video — a collaboration between Naser Amin, filmmaker Nathan Fisher, The Advocates for Human Rights, and the Iraqi and American Reconciliation Project. A January 24 reception for U.S. vets and Iraqi refugees who told their stories through the Veterans Book Project will be 7-9 p.m. at the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business, Schulze Hall Atrium, 1000 LaSalle Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55403

This activity is made possible in part by a grant provided by the Minnesota State Arts Board through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the state’s arts and cultural heritage fund with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
