NEWS YOU CAN USE Group targets Minnesota in campaign to stop political robo-calling by Chris Steller, Minnesota Independent
The nonprofit group Citizens for Civil Discourse says it will bring its National Political Do Not Contact Registry campaign to Minnesota to stop robocalls in the state this election season. The organization is seeking voters willing to file official complaints and demand enforcement of laws that require political phone messages begin with an introduction from a live person on the line.

The continued saga of Black Mpls police officers

Almost 16 years ago, an action was taken within the Minneapolis Police Department to suspend Officer Charles Adams for 20 days for insubordination. About a year and a half later, a second suspension for 10 days without pay was imposed again on Officer Charles Adams, again for insubordination and conduct unbecoming of a Minneapolis Police Officer.

Both of them have smiles that can brighten a room and personalities to match. They are talkative and friendly and love to tell stories. The only thing that separates these two women is 78 years-the difference in their ages. But when they partnered up in a series of short documentary films spotlighting women who grew up part of Minnesota’s “Greatest Generation,” Annie Wood and Bea Evans learned quickly that age doesn’t matter when you’re sharing the story of your life.
