FREE SPEECH ZONE | Indigo Kicks Off the First Concert in The Capri’s Legend Series

Print

Minneapolis jazz legend and Mid-American Music Hall of Fame inductee, Arne Fogel directed this vocal jazz tour deforce at The Capri Theater on West Broadway in North Minneapolis. The entire concept is based on the color blue its inclusion in the lyrics, themes and titles of so much jazz music.

Katie Gearty, Nancy Harms and Rachel Holder were the powerhouse trio that delivered on Fogel’s theme. From Miles Davis’s All Blues to Orbison’s Blue Bayou with Rogers and Hart and Thelonius Monk thrown in, the evening was as indigo as was promised. The vocalists were accompanied by The Phil Aaron Trio: Phil Aaron, piano, Graydon Peterson, bass, and Jay Epstein, drums.

The Legends Concerts at The Capri Theater continue with February and April dates featuring Ginger Commodore, Connie Evingson and Greta Oglesby. Click here for two-concert ticket packages.
