Stories of the Somali Diaspora, an exhibit of photography by Abdi Roble, will be on display at the Weisman Art Museum from June 20 through September 27. Roble, who was born in Somalia, has been documenting his fellow immigrants’ journeys since 2003; the Weisman exhibit will feature photos taken in multiple Somali-American communities, including the large community here in Minnesota.

An opening reception this Saturday the 20th will feature traditional Somali stories, henna art, Somali food, and an appearance by Roble. Below are a few of Roble’s most evocative images.
