Thousands flocked to the mall in front of the Minnesota State Capitol on Saturday to show solidarity with Wisconsin workers in their fight to stop Governor Scott Walker from gutting their collective bargaining rights. Congressman Keith Ellison brought cheers and chants when he described the marionette string pullers, the Koch brothers, orchestrating the Wisconsin assault on the middle class. Ellison said that, just like Dorothy when she pulled the curtain back on the Wizard of Oz, workers of the country see the string pullers and they are no longer afraid.
Minnesota State Senator Scott Dibble, SD 60, said, “You people are beautiful. I wish you could see yourselves.” Songs, cheers and chants kept the energy overflowing into the streets of St. Paul.
