Gardeners gathered on Saturday, June 15th to install a peace pole at the garden site. The Corcoran Community garden is now in full swing with the 22 plots filled by a mix of beginner and experienced gardeners. When asked why they garden at the Corcoran Community Garden, here are some of their replies:
“We love growing food, I love the community sharing plans; growing food and community at the same time is great!”
Joe, Corcoran Resident
“Doing botany with my children and a chance to grown some vegetables for our family’s consumption.”
Janis, Corcoran Resident
“I would love to grow my own food and have never had the chance! I’d also love to meet neighbors and be part of the neighborhood more.”
Megan, Corcoran Resident
You can check out the garden for yourself at the corner of 33rd street and 24th Avenue.
