Event Details

The Carnival de Resistance is proud to announce our upcoming residency at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Minneapolis September 13 – 26, 2016. More than 30 artists and activists from across North and Central America will build and animate this traveling arts carnival, eco-village demonstration, and unconventional school. A myriad of local organizations are partnering for two weeks of events bridging art, activism and faith.

On each Friday and Saturday (Sept. 16th, 17th, 23rd & 24th), the Carnival presents a true mingling of worlds and wonders in the Carnival midway and big top. The Big Top curtains will open at 6:30 PM each night for special opening acts, including Logan Oakgrove and the Little Thunderbirds Drum and Dance Troupe, Joe Davis and the Poetic Diaspora, Cienanos from Honduras, and Society of Sun Drummer: Drums from West Africa.
