Event Details

This edition of #SupportLocalHustle BIPOC pop up will be held at Gandhi Mahal (3009 27th Ave S) on Saturday, December 21, 11a-4p
. Everyone is welcome at this free event! CASH ONLY please.

#SupportLocalHustle popups are an opportunity to support local BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) artists, bakers, creatives, and makers. We have a charitable cause you can donate to at the door, good vibes, and beautiful wares.

This event is free to enter, cash ONLY, and open to all folks who would like to contribute to a respectful space explicitly against sexism, transphobia (please don’t assume our pronouns!), and racism.

—– ABOUT THE Vendors —–
All of these vendors are proudly BIPOC. Some of us are queer, trans, disabled, chronically ill. We recognize that there are many market spaces that are not welcoming to us, and there are systems in place that exclude us from being successful in many spaces. This pop up is an answer to that! We want to provide opportunities for our beautiful, hardworking, creative selves to succeed as a way of celebrating and uplifting our BIPOC community.

Vendors will be selling their art, baked goods, pickles, and jewelry, among other treasures. Goods are mostly $1-$30. Many offer sliding scale pricing.

Pickle Witch (v/gf fermented pickles)
Art by Tori Hong (stickers, zines, cards, art prints)
hclou art (uniquely queer art)
… and more!

—– ABOUT THE Space—–
This event will take place at Gandhi Mahal (3009 27th Ave S). The entrance to Gandhi Mahal Restaurant’s community room is on 27th Ave S, south of Lake St., on the east side of the street, near the intersection of Minnehaha and Lake. Enter through the community room entrance, not the restaurant entrance. It is accessible by Blue Line LRT, 7, 21, 53 buses, there is bike parking and metered car parking on 27th Ave S, with additional car parking across Minnehaha.

The nearest ATM is located inside Minnehaha Liquors and Nuevo Rodeo. Please bring cash for vendors.

The space has no steps to get in, and one single stall (no-/all-gender) bathroom with handrails. Navigating inside the space with a wheelchair would be very tight, but doable.
