The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in St. Paul’s Summit-University neighborhood is sponsoring a concert by Songs of Hope onThursday, July 28, 2016, at 7 p.m. This annual Music on the Blacktop event begins with food and fellowship at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Songs of Hope is a six-week performing arts summer camp in Saint Paul for kids aged 10 and older from around the world. Songs of Hope, a program of Sounds of Hope, Ltd., offers participants a unique opportunity to live in the community with kids from other countries and cultures while learning and performing music from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and the U.S. Between June 19 and August 2, a select group of up to 60 children and young adults will learn and perform popular songs and dances from each other’s cultures. These songs of peace, love, and respect combine into a joyous celebration of cultural unity.
The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Saint Paul Area Synod, and a Reconciling in Christ congregation. We have been serving Christ in mission in the city of St. Paul since 1890 and have been located on the corner of Dale Street and Carroll Avenue in the historic Rondo neighborhood of St. Paul (also known as Summit-University) since 1911.
