Are you interested in hosting a discussion about safety beyond policing in your community, developing educational materials abut police abolition, or investigating alternatives to policing? Come to the first meeting of the MPD150 education/alternatives group!

Our goal is to talk about the possibilities of a police-free Minneapolis with as many people in the city as possible, in classrooms, faith communities, book clubs, groups of neighbors, conferences, and more. The MPD150 education workgroup is dedicated to taking content from our report, website, and the work of our members to develop educational materials and come up with plans to get the word out. We’re looking for folks to join the education workgroup who are eager to develop educational materials and who want to bring presentations into their communities.

The Alternatives team at MPD150 is focused on investigating potential alternatives for a future without police. Though we’re primarily focusing on the Minneapolis Police Department, we’re also looking at police and police abolition movements worldwide. We’re looking for volunteers who are detail-oriented and curious!
