Event Details

Join WFP Midwest and the Human Rights Program at the University of Minnesota in sponsoring a panel on “Migration and Human Rights: from the Honduran coup to the migrant caravans.”

In the midst of the anniversary of the assassination of activist and environmental leader Berta Cáceres on March 2, 2016, come hear why Hondurans are seeking asylum at the US/Mexico border. The panel will include experts and a Honduran caravan refugee sharing their direct experiences with the role of US-sponsored militarization in Honduras and the US/Mexico border. Join us in learning about the Honduran resistance effort to build solidarity and awareness.

There will be a moment of silence for all lives lost in Honduras and at the border.
