Meet the Historic Cohort of Hmong Legislators
Thursday, January 17th, 2019 at 6:30PM
In November, Minnesota votes made history by electing five Hmong-Americans to the state government. One, Fue Lee (Minneapolis) — was re-elected — and four — Tou Xiong (Maplewood), Kaoly Her (St. Paul), Samantha Vang (Brooklyn Center), and Jay Xiong (St. Paul) — were elected for the first time. They join Sen. Foung Hawj (District 67) in making the largest contingent of Hmong legislators anywhere in the U.S. In December, they organized themselves as the Minnesota Asian Pacific Caucus. We are excited to host a “Meet and Greet” so that you can meet them and learn what is on their agenda — and they can meet you and learn what is on your mind.
