ABOUT THE EVENT

Women have always carried the weight while doing the work. Playing the roles of leader, healer, nurturer, revolutionary, lover, storyteller, warrior and so much more. Feel No Pain is a night to honor femininity by creating space for women to let go of that weight, be light, be free and have room to just be.

Sade as an artist has embodied and shared the strength and sorrow of womanhood for decades, helping generations of various backgrounds better understand themselves and their way in this world. The lush sounds of Sade’s music are the inspiration for Feel No Pain’s environment including the art, food, performances and artisan marketplace.

Throughout the evening enjoy a live Sade tribute set by Kiana Marie and Proper T, explore a video installation by Sarah White, a special guest Dj set by Sophia Eris, indulge in snacks from Wandering Kitchen, and pick up goods made by local female and POC entrepreneurs, makers, and artists.

Men, if you understand and appreciate the importance of being in a space created with this intention, please come and be a part of the night with us. We want you here, as long as you bring love and respect.

A portion of proceeds will be donated to SPIRAL, a radical collective which provides free, compassionate, non-judgemental support to the full-spectrum of people across all pregnancy outcomes & reproductive experiences with the intention of empowering bodily autonomy & collective liberation. St. Paul Slim
Artist
I am not a black artist, I am an artist. Jean-Michel Basquiat

Meyer Warren is the man. St. Paul Slim is the emcee.#TheW8OnEmptySpace is the painter. In the tradition of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Warren is his own artistic invention. As St. Paul Slim, Warren has created a legacy of lyrical prowess through his booming voice. He speaks for the streets, he speaks for the people, and he speaks very loudly. His journey began as a member of the duo, Guardians of Balance, and through the years has found him rhyming with the likes of Muja Messiah, Prof, Atmosphere, MC Lyte, Cee Lo, A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-1 and Slick Rick. While his commitment to music hasn’t waivered, his visual artistic talents have evolved into #TheW8OnEmptySpace. In the past two years Warren has had three solo art shows, he has been featured as an artist for the Made Here series #Represent, and he is one of only ten artists featured on the 2016 Summer Arts Discovery Series at the Landmark Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. You can find more regarding all aspects of Warren’s art at: www.StPaulSlim.com.
